Finding a recovery program for Methadone addiction
There are different types of recovery programs for those with a methadone addiction. It is important to find the right program. Not every program is right for every person. When you find the right program, you will have a better success rate of not relapsing, which is what family members want, and hopefully the person with the dependency problem.
There are inpatient and outpatient programs. Knowing which one is right for the person with the problem is important. They cannot get the right help if they are in the wrong program. Knowing the differences between inpatient and outpatient is important. Knowing the pros and cons of each will help you find the right program for the person in need of help.
There are inpatient programs to help those with a methadone dependency. This is a great way to still be able to visit the person, yet getting them out of the environment that could potentially hurt them more or kill them. With inpatient programs they have people watching them 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This program has all kinds of meetings, support groups, etc to help the person with the dependency out.
Then there is an outpatient program to help out. This program the person does not live at the facility. They come for the activities assigned them each day or the days they are required. They have a support group, but they are not with that support group 24 hours a day 7 days a week. If you do not need to get them away from the group causing the problem, this might be a good way to go.
Knowing how long someone has been using Methadone and how much they have been taking will probably affect which type of program they go to. Sometimes getting out of the situation can make a huge impact and can really help the person clean up. While others may need the help and support, but not need it 24 hours day surveillance. Finding the right inpatient or outpatient program is important. There are many ways to look for help. There are doctors, psychologist, and other medical professionals who can give their suggestions and even refer someone if that is needed. The right help will help you get the person into the right program, which is of up most importance.
When methadone has been used, finding the right programs is important. When you find a program that will really help them out, you will do anything to get them there and as soon as possible.

Treatment for methadone addiction?
Methadone is a prescribed medication for harm reduction and becomes it's own addiction with a greater emphasis on the physical withdrawal aspect and psychological will be involved with the facing the pain faction but once a person is clean of drugs and alcohol there must be medical assistance to withdraw from methadone. The current methodology is for the person to withdraw by a process of taper and without any additional medical assistance i.e. medication for the agitation that with all I am sure it is different occurs. There are no clinics set up for withdrawal assistance both psychologically and physically but lots of clinics to prescribe methadone. Is there no money for the medical profession in assisting an addict to withdraw?

Question about methadone addiction?
How difficult is it to cease a methadone habit? My brother is 21 years old and he is destroying our family. He is enrolled in an outpatient methadone maintenance program, and has been for 5 years now. He abuses the program, and has begun to steal from our family including myself. He claims there is no way he can quit taking methadone, let alone quit using drugs altogether. He acts as if he were to not dose at the clinic one day that he would land in the ER. We come from a very wealthy family, and none of us understand him. What is the best way to help him. How do you save someone that does not want to be saved. If you say anything to him he gives you a big speech about how " you don't understand." Why he chose to use drugs is beyond me, he has everything but my family's patience is wearing very thin. He lives in a 2 million dollar home that he purchased with the families money. Something has got to change, and I love my brother and want to help him. He uses mixes his methadone with alprazolam, and from what I hear that can kill you.
Finding a career after heroin/methadone addiction, LE or Military?
Hello I am a recovering addict, I have 3 years clean under my belt right now, I have no felonies but some misdameanors, mostly petite larceny, I am looking for a job in law enforcement or military, but as you know if you have had a related experience this can be very difficult with past drug use, I Am wondering if anyone knows a place to start or a job in LE or Military I can get. Maybe Even Security, I am willing to start out at the bottom, or go through courses or college to get a certificate if that will help, If anyone has ideas or advice Id really appreciate it. And please no rude answers or answers of " find another career choice" obviously that is an option but i don't need it stated as I know this but I would like to follow my current choice. Thank YouI was also on methadone for 2 years and in a treatment program, I attend meetings regularly, I am very dedicated to my sobriety and I want nothing more then a career in something I love,

so i have this friend i havent seen in about a year. even though i didn't know but last time i saw her a year ago she was doing vicodin at least 3 pills a day and now she has quit vicodin and for the past 7 months has been doing methadone and you can tell when she takes it most of the time because she gets all twitchy and hyper or of she isn't talking she will zone out and close her eyes sometimes. its really scary and she is going to a 5 day rehab just to get her family off her back but she plans on continuing using after her detox. i keep telling her how she has a problem because she does anywhere from 3 10 pills a day but she keeps telling me its no big deals doctors prescribes these pills to people all the time. and i have been googling methadone trying to find bad effects it can cause people and the only thing i have found is tooth decay. so i was wondering is methadone even as bad as i think?? and if anyone can tell me if it does any harm to people in the long run besides being addicted to a pill and tooth decay because i want to try and scare her to show her thisisn'tt healthy and she needs to stops but i need to know if it even does any true harm besides dependency on a pillshe swallows the pill or crushes it and sniffs it
