Finding a recovery program for Methadone addiction

There are different types of recovery programs for those with a methadone addiction. It is important to find the right program. Not every program is right for every person. When you find the right program, you will have a better success rate of not relapsing, which is what family members want, and hopefully the person with the dependency problem.

There are inpatient and outpatient programs. Knowing which one is right for the person with the problem is important. They cannot get the right help if they are in the wrong program. Knowing the differences between inpatient and outpatient is important. Knowing the pros and cons of each will help you find the right program for the person in need of help.

There are inpatient programs to help those with a methadone dependency. This is a great way to still be able to visit the person, yet getting them out of the environment that could potentially hurt them more or kill them. With inpatient programs they have people watching them 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This program has all kinds of meetings, support groups, etc to help the person with the dependency out.

Then there is an outpatient program to help out. This program the person does not live at the facility. They come for the activities assigned them each day or the days they are required. They have a support group, but they are not with that support group 24 hours a day 7 days a week. If you do not need to get them away from the group causing the problem, this might be a good way to go.

Knowing how long someone has been using Methadone and how much they have been taking will probably affect which type of program they go to. Sometimes getting out of the situation can make a huge impact and can really help the person clean up. While others may need the help and support, but not need it 24 hours day surveillance. Finding the right inpatient or outpatient program is important. There are many ways to look for help. There are doctors, psychologist, and other medical professionals who can give their suggestions and even refer someone if that is needed. The right help will help you get the person into the right program, which is of up most importance.

When methadone has been used, finding the right programs is important. When you find a program that will really help them out, you will do anything to get them there and as soon as possible.

Withdrawal From Methadone: Methadone Facts

withdrawal from methadone - Important information about methadone recovery and the use of methadone in drug addiction recovery.

Am I going to withdrawal from methadone if i have only taken it for 7 days?
I have been using heroin off and on for 2 years but recently i have been using regularly for about the last 4 months. I tried to quit cold turkey from heroin a couple weeks ago but with my mind state at that time i could not get through it. 7 days ago I started a 21 day methadone treatment but the more i have researched I have found that methadone is almost as bad. I do not want to be on anything or just substitute heroin for methadone. I told the doctor that i wanted to stop and to detox me off. I started at 60 mg and every 2 days went down 5 mg. So today I was supposed to be taking 45 mg of methadone. After talking with the doctor I decided to rapidly detox by taking 20 mg today instead of 45mg and i am taking 10 mg tomorrow then i will be off. My question is am I going to have as bad of withdrawals as heroin or will i even withdraw at all because It has been 7 days so the heroin is out of my system and I have only taken 7 days of methadone so I don't think I can become dependent that fast on methadone. If someone could answer my question that would be great and if I am in for a horrible withdrawal like from heroin does anyone have any tips?I am sorry if you got the wrong impression from what I said. I know methadone helps a lot of people to stay clean and to be able to go to work and live without using or hurting. In that scence i have nothing against methadone. As far as what I am trying to accomplish is to not be on any substance what so ever. Methadone though may help a lot of people is not good for your health and there are many restrictions that go along with it. Also the longer one is on methadone the more dependant one gets and will be harder to get off in the long run. I have been told by all the people in the clinic as well as the doctor that no matter what i am going to withdrawal either at the end or if i stop now. I would rather get it over with now before my semester of school starts and get on with my life.

Does Marijuana help withdrawal from methadone?
My sister is addicted to meth, but goes to the clinic. She missed it today and yesterday and wants me to give her money for meth and she said she's going to rehab soon. I haven't answered her back, but I refuse to give her any money for more meth. I'd give her weed though if that could help her. She said she is throwing up and that she feels really bad. I don't mess with any other drugs so I'm not sure if a gram of weed could help her until she gets to the clinic tomorrow morning.

I have decided to withdrawal from methadone. What should I expect?
I have been going to the clinic since early november and got all the way up to 110 mgs. I told them that iw as ready to come off so they have been lowering me 10 mgs a week. I am now at 40 mgs and it has been a fairly easy process so far. last weekend I decided to take a few days to see how i did so i went 3 days w o the medicine. i did fine. So now i think i am ready to just stop completely. Should i expect withdrawals? Is this a bad idea? What do you guys think?

Can Ultram (tramadol) relieve withdrawal from Methadone?
Hey, i am wondering..I was formerly addicted pretty wretchedly to herion after a long battle with the lovely Oxycontin , and therefor tried a number of treatments, ultimately landing upon a Methadone clinic. I have found it to be a wonderful option for me, although, it does have some unfavorable side effects. Regardless, i was doing quite well on it for 3 years now haven't used at all , except i do at times abuse my Methadone. For example, i will take a couple doses in a day. So now, i did that again as i get a 6 day supply at a time for being 'good' , and i am one short. I obtained 4 100 mg Ultram ER tablets and i wonder if they will help fight of the " yucky" feeling i will certainly feel tomorrow. Anyone know? Thanks all Indeed being done with all drugs would be favorable but it is not yet in my power. And Methadone withdrawal most certainly lasts way longer than a mere 3 days. Anyone have any experience with this?
